Not only that, sometimes such people  get the strange vibes inside a restaurant from people who simply don't like to watch  fat folks eat.
PICTURE THIS WITH ME. If you so  happened to be a fat person,  sometime  well meaning friends and acquaintances will give you unsolicited advice of what to eat and wear. You get unsought advices even from noble  souls who try to convince you to go with them  to the gym every other  day. These people assume  that in no time you'd be as trim and fit as they are. Get my drift?
FURTHERMORE, some so called self-appointed  ‘Consultants’, they  being normal human  think this kind of harsh treatment is not only morally  justifiable but in some respects it’s their duty.  Moreover, if all fails, they still reason out they can shame the large person into losing weight.
FORTUNATELY OR NOT, the upshot is that sometimes, we, ourselves  assume rightly or wrongly that  it's only rational for fat people to develop a number of defence tools to protect themselves from a hostile setting. Interesting, isn’t it?`
Enough of my long intro for now. Let me raise the curtain to allow you to have a full view at a glance of this short write-up. OK?

That being said so far, let’s preview  the types of ‘Fats’ personalities. Psychologically, they could be classified  according to their peculiar behaviors and mind-sets.

The Intimidated Fats decide that if you can't beat them, join them. They tend to be kind, well-meaning people who don't like to be conspicuous. Back of their mind, they truly believe that ordinary people will like them, they feel. Conditionally if they don't make waves, don't eat in public  and bake cookies for all the bake sales. Of themselves they assume normal-weights people are disciplined, knowledgeable about nutrition, and justifiably outspoken.
Hear this, "They're doing it for our own good,". These are the words which  describe s how they describe their persecution. Privately, they consider themselves weak, inferior, undisciplined, and generally abnormal. And they tend not to seek out their own kind.
Before we proceed to the tubby fat feline personality, listen to this warning! . I have only peeled back the first layer of one personality type but if you really want to get the truth we are going to get a little more personal.  Any problem?
SHOCKING EXPOSURE NO.2. TUBBY FAT FELINE PERSON
They follow  the ‘I show you them ‘ philosophy . They don’t  love  being fat but they achieved some  personal success  in spite  of their  appearance.  Sometimes they are successful  by actually making fun  of their weight . But more often  they just decide  they have to be that much better  than the competition. Fat cats  are usually  self-employed  professionals  or freelance humanitarians. They are rarely  in large industries, banks or other prestigious  institutions. On the other hand it could  be   normal weighted people  declare that no one  beyond size 36 W waistline  or a size dress will be  in any condition to climb the corporate ladder.
Former fats don't turn their hostility on the normal-weight world; they reserve it for their still-chubby comrades—and themselves.
Fat Cat can hide behind their success, too. Often they want to change but are too stubborn to try. That " I will show them" attitude occasionally breaks down into spiteful-child behavior in the face of criticism. But they're rarely as hostile as those in the next category.
With that behavioral characteristics of the fat cat in mind, let move on to the militant or revolutionary fatty person. A shocker, if I may say so myself!
SHOCKING EXPOSURE NO.3.THE REVOLUTIONARY CHUNKY INDIVIDUAL
This group was long overdue. Biologically, fat makes both men and women more placid and maternal, so any rebellion tends to be internal. But the rise of the feminist movement in the late sixties and the seventies helped them find their voice, and you can find large numbers of them fighting the good fight on a number of fronts.
This is still the smallest segment of the overweight community, but what they lack in numbers they make up for in pounds and brains. Their style tends to be paranoid, and they dress to emphasize their weight instead  of hide it. Don’t get me wrong , I like the militant fats. If they tend to be hostile on occasion  because in their views diet books just reinforce the normal-weight stats quo. Their  hostility at least directed at the outside world, where belong.
Because of their weight, however, their credibility  suffers. No one really believes they like being fat. But credible or not they are the ones who will push for reforms, uncover job discriminations  and dramatize  the plight of the intimidated majority. More power to them.

SOUND HORRIBLE? SOUND SICK? Why, you ask? Simple! It’s when normal adults take mystery pills and diuretics; pay thousands of dollars to starvation spas. And go on absurd fruit-and-vegetable or rice-and-water diets. Also they submit to such drastic procedures as jaw-wiring, intestinal bypasses, stomach stapling, gastric balloons, and fat suctioning. Because of this,  I frankly don't find bulimia so shocking. Millions of teenage girls, plagued with images of thin, desirable women, find it the logical, if messy, a solution to a depressing fact of life: That in a land of luscious, tempting foods, they must constantly deny themselves what others can frequently have.
